A swim spa’s length changes the job. Record the unit dimensions, then measure the route as a series of turns and clear openings rather than one gate width.
Start with three spa dimensions
Measure approximate length, width, and height. Tell the estimator whether the unit is freestanding, partially recessed, or enclosed by a deck. Photos should confirm the measurements.
Measure the tight point at working height
Gate posts, latches, eaves, utility boxes, and deck rails can reduce the usable opening. Measure the clear space, not the nominal gate size.
Map every turn
A long section may fit through an opening but fail at the next corner. Photograph each change in direction with enough context to show walls, fences, trees, and grade.
Finish at the truck
Show driveway slope, alley width, overhead wires, and the distance from the final gate to the loading position. The crew can then decide what deserves an on-site review.
Use the photos to ask better questions
Ask what is included, what must be complete before arrival, how the on-site price is confirmed, and what remains after removal. A specific scope protects both the property owner and the crew.
